1.Write a strategy for multiplying two integers. Be sure to consider all possible c ombinations of positive integers, negative integers, and 0. Verify your strategy by finding the following products.
a.-13x7= Step one, multiply the integers. (13x7= 91)
Step two, verify if the integers are positives or negatives (- x - = +), (- x + = -), (+ x + = +), (+ x - = -).
Step three, complete your answer. (- x + = -, -13x7= -91)
b.11x-20= Step one, multiply the integers. (11x20= 220)
Step two, verify if the integers are positives or negatives
(- x - = +), (- x + = -), (+ x + = +), (+ x - = -).
Step three, complete your answer. (+ x - = -, 11x-20= -220)
c.-12x0= Any integers who multiplies with the integer 0 will have a product that will automaticly turned into 0.
d.-18x-22= Step one, multiply the integers. (18x22= 396)
Step two, verify if the integers are positives or negatives (- x - = +), (- x + = -), (+ x + = +), (+ x - = -). Step three, complete your answer. (- x - = +, -18x-22=396)
2.Write a strategy for dividing two integers. Be sure to consider all possible combinations of positive integers, negative integers, and 0. Verify your strategy by finding the following quotients. a.126/-9=
Step one, divide the integers. (126/9= 14)
Step two, verify if the integers are positives or negatives
(+ / + = +), (+ / - = - ), (- / + = -), (- / - = +).
Step three, complete your answer. (+/-=-, 126/-9= -14)
b.-36/-12= Step one, divide the integers. (36/12= 3)
Step two, verify if the integers are positives or negatives
(+ / + = +), (+ / - = -), (- / + = -), (- / - = +).
Step three, complete your answer. (-/-=+, -36/-12= 3)
c.-2592/32=
Step one, divide the integers. (2592/32= 81)
Step two, verify if the integers are postives or negatives
(+ / + = +), (+ / - = -), (- / + = -), (- / - = +).
Step three, complete your answer. (-/+=-, -2592/32= -81)
d.0/18= Any integers who divides with the integer 0 will have a quotient that will automaticly turned into 0.
SUMMARY- In this unit, Accentuate the Negative, I learned more about multiplying and dividing negative integers. It does have some connection with adding and subtracting, but works a bit more differently. There are some patterns to follow that could help you in solving multiplying and dividing negative integers like, (- x - = +), (- x + = -), (+ x + = +), (+ x - = -)
And (+ / + = +), (+ / - = -), (- / + = -), ( - / - = +)
